As another step in this direction, the association is this weekend launching a pilot project which is to become known as the SKNFA LIME Star Browne Women’s League. It is named in honour of the late Elvis Star Brown who died last year after a prolonged illness. Browne was a former National Football captain and coach, playing at both the junior and senior levels.
On Sunday 6th May, 2012 an official Opening ceremony will be held for the league, at the LIME Grounds in Needsmust at 2:00 pm.
Participating teams will march pass and immediately following that, will be a female 9 v 9 festival, said SKNFA officials. The competition will be played amongst seven (7) teams, namely: S.L Horsford, St. Pauls, St. Peters, Village Superstars, Newtown United, St. Thomas/Trinity Strikers, C.C.C Bath United and Cayon
