One lucky football fan from one of 13 LIME markets will win a trip to England to be in the stands to watch a Barclays Premier League (BPL) game live, courtesy of LIME’s BPL Fan Sweepstakes promotion.
As official sponsor of the broadcasts of the BPL on Sportsmax in the Caribbean, LIME is taking the excitement from the living room and the sports bar to the field of play.
In addition to the main prize of the trip to England to watch a BPL game, hundreds of other customers will win cool prizes including jerseys and other football paraphernalia.
Qualifying for a chance to win is as easy as texting “BPL” to short code TEAM or 8326 in St. Kitts & Nevis and in Jamaica to 444 8326, and each top up of EC$20 also gives customers one free entry into the draw. Customers can TEXT-UP OR TOP-UP as many times as they wish to increase their chances of winning.
Chris Dehring, Chief Marketing Officer of LIME Caribbean said: “Football in the Caribbean is undoubtedly one of the most popular sports and it is quite obvious that in recent years Caribbean football fans have developed an even keener interest in the BPL football, especially since the matches have become so readily accessible on Sportsmax. The friendly rivalry among supporters of some of the more popular teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea Liverpool and Tottenham, adds to the vibes surrounding the games. And it was out of this recognition that we came up with the idea to give a fan a chance to live out the dream of watching their favourite team in action, live”.
The promotion, which runs to November 10, will see qualifying customers winning weekly prizes of team jerseys and shirts. Winners will be able to choose gear from Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Other prizes in the weekly draw will also include footballs.
The grand prize draw will take place following the end of the promotion when a lucky BPL fan, from one of the 13 participating LIME markets, will win the grand prize valued at US$5,000.
The winner must be in position to travel on or before January 31, 2011, according to a statement from LIME.
