This energetic, popular and witty calypsonian, from the town of Sandy Point, has been selected to open the batting in the team of ten calypsonians who will be vying for the crown in this new calypso contest.
Willie however, would have great difficulty to withstand the barking of the dogs when King La La makes his appearance in second position. La La is already threatening that he needs two crowns this year, one for him and the other for his deceased son, “Mighty Diego” who died a couple months ago.
On Wednesday, 22nd December, the ten calypsonians selected the order in which they would perform and following Little Willie and La La who have drawn 1st and 2nd positions, will be Felix (3), Rock-ah-fella (4), Pau-u-la (5), Hot Rod (6), Neglecter (7), Aba Lively (8), Unexpected (9) and De Provoker (10)
In a recent interview with organizer of the event, Val Henry, all the final preparations are being put in place and it is expected to be a spectacular show.
“It’s going to be humorous, hilarious, comical and amusing,” Henry promised and explained that this new initiative is hoping to ‘grind’ more sweetness into the annual Sugar Mas’ because it will be a highlight of the funniest, most entertaining and exciting exponents of the calypso art-form.
The King Ah De Tents calypso show takes place this evening, Thursday 23rd December at De House Nitery located at Soho. The curtains open at 9:00 p.m. and the show would be streamed live on www.miyvue.com.
