According to a release from the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee, (SKNOC), the four are the Taekwondo Federation, Amateur Athletic Association, the Table Tennis Association and the Volleyball Association.
Hence, in an effort to provide the athletes with the much needed high-level competitions and training, prior to their selection on the SKNOC’s representative team, the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee has fully committed itself to facilitating the preparation and qualification process to aid the participation of these teams and players in various continental and international Games and Competition.
A Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) Taekwondo qualifier will be held in Lima, Peru over the period March 23rd to 26th, 2011. A delegation comprising of SCNTA President, Mr. Andy Otto as Team Manager along with Coach Desmond Daniel and athletes: Raun Morton and Leroy Lewis departed St Kitts on Tuesday 22nd March, 2011 for Peru, in order to participate in this qualifying event.
Similarly, Messrs. Shawn Seabrookes and St Clair Hodge and Mrs. Brenda Allen-Edinborough and Miss Shanicia Dyer, four of the Federation’s elite Beach Volleyball players will compete in the first leg of the 2011 NORECA Beach Volleyball Tour in the Cayman Islands from March 23rd to 27th, 2011.
The SKNOC along with the SCNTF and the SKAVA are confident that the athletes will eventually qualify and wish the athletes every success.
