In October of this year, the mobile providers launched a unique calling plan specifically designed for Guyanese residing in the Federation and wish to keep connected with their friends and family in Guyana.
Marketing Executive for Digicel, Genieve Hanley, explained that the roll-out of the new call plans for the local Guyanese population comes as a part of Digicel’s ongoing commitment to give back to its communities.
“At Digicel, we are always looking for innovative and meaningful ways to ensure that our customers feel valued. We take great pride in providing the best in products, services, rates and coverage to all, and the community of Guyanese residing in the Federation is of course, no exception. Digicel understands your need to remain in close contact with persons ‘back home’ and our new Call Guyana Plans enable you to do just that at the lowest rate in St. Kitts & Nevis,” Hanley said.
Meanwhile, Donovan Matthews, Deputy Chairman of the Guyanese Association, expressed gratitude on behalf of the association to Digicel for their generosity and for being proactive when it came to reaching out to the Guyanese community. He explained how exciting it is to partner with the mobile providers, and commended them for their outstanding service.
An un-expecting, lucky audience member, Lester Truman, walked away with a complimentary Nokia handset and free credit from Digicel, after his number was selected out of random draw.
