According to a release from the St Kitts Nevis Football Association, Browne is the only referee selected from the OECS countries which is a testament to the quality of referees we have in St Kitts and Nevis. The other Caribbean countries with selected referees are Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Aruba.
“The St Kitts-Nevis Football Association would like to congratulate Mr. Graeme Browne on his appointment and wish him much success during the tournament,” the released stated.
Referees that have also been selected are from South America and North American countries.
St Kitts-Nevis currently has five Referees on the FIFA list, which is a high rate of referees per capita in the Caribbean.
Twelve youth teams from around North and Central America will compete for the continental title, with the semifinalists also getting the four CONCACAF spots at the 2011 U-17 World Cup later this year.
