When the contest was held on the weekend, veteran entertainer, Anthonyson Gonsalves, known in the calypso world as Lord Kent, delivered a high level performance that the judges thought was good enough to be deserving of the Third Place position. 

The event was dubbed the 6th Sesame Flyers New York Calypso Monarch Competition, with a field of 13 finalists, a majority of whom were from Trinidad. 

Lord Kent benefited from the support of a number of Kittitians and Nevisians who made up the audience as he represented St. Kitts and Nevis well, having produced an outstanding performance. 

This was Lord Kent’s 3rd time in this competition. 

Kent, in the past, has made it to the Finals of the St. Kitts and Nevis Calypso Monarch Competition but is yet to secure that first crown that he so craves.
