Anthonyson Gonsalves, known in the calypso world as Lord Kent, has in the past made it to the Finals of the Senior Calypso Monarch Competition, and is remembered for his uplifting songs of patriotism.
In a message released to the media on Tuesday, 18th September, 2012, Lord Kent said, “On behalf of myself and the rest of the family abroad, I wish the federation a happy 29th independence anniversary. As we continue to grow in stature, may God continue to bless our nation and our people.”
In his message to his fellow Kittitians and Nevisians, Kent reminded them that life is filled with hardships but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. He said he wanted them to continue trying.
Hi appeal to the young people was for them to continue striving for success, admonishing that crime and violence do not pay. He said he wanted them to stay on the right path.
And to the leaders of the country, “…listen to the people’s cry to heal the nation,” said Kent
“May God continue to bless the federation. (I am) proud to be a Kittitian. Peace to all, said Mr. Gonsalves”.
