Though police have not released the name and other details of the victim, which is the norm in these cases, it was noted that the incident took place Wednesday 28th May, 2014.
The man has been identified as Clayton Laws of Nevis Street in Basseterre. His conviction for rape was achieved on Friday 11th July, 2014.
The judge sentenced Laws to fifteen (15) years in prison. However, time that he has already spent on remand will be deducted and count as part of his time incarcerated.
In another matter, Wendell Welcome of mansion Village was convicted for Unlawful carnal Knowledge, the term used for the statutory rape of a minor. This incident police say occurred on 20th February and again on 11th July, 2014.
Lawrence was sentenced for sixteen (16) years and his time already spent on remand will equally be counted as part of his time locked away.
