From the initial reports so far, the man was on his way home following a game of basketball with friends at the Maynard’s Park.
It was around 9:26pm when he was killed on Back Street, not too far from his former residence and a stone’s throw away from the lone police station in the district. His body was found lying on the side of the road.
Police have now identified the victim as Miguel Byron who was 32 years old. This however is the third criminal incident involving guns, within the last four days.
Last Saturday 23rd March, a man was shot in his face by his supervisor during an altercation at their workplace at the Industrial Site; then on Sunday night shots were fired, but no one was injured, on Brombill Street, Newtown. A firearm was recovered and police now have two men in custody.
