Man treated for gunshot wounds in Cayon shooting incident

According to information from the Cayon Police Station, the unnamed person from Cunningham Village was sitting outside a barbershop, near the Green Valley Pub, when a “man dressed as a rasta” approached and opened fire on the seated man. Police said the individual was struck in the right leg and left side of the abdomen.

He was treated for injuries in hospital and later discharged.

Police ask that anyone with additional information can call any police station or use the Crime Stoppers hotline, 1-800-8477 (TIPS).

In other police news this week, the Frigate Bay Police Station is investigating a report at Horizon Villas in which a motor scooter was stolen from a residence between 11:00 pm on Tuesday 2 and 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

Investigations revealed that Jacqueline Tickerill parked the blue and white Honda scooter PA 1471 at her resident and some unknown person or persons took it. 

Anyone with information about the stolen PA 1471 can call the Frigate Bay Police Station at 465-6899, or the nearest police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). 

Meanwhile, the Tabernacle Police Station is investigating a traffic accident that occurred in Lodge Village Tuesday, June 3 that resulted in one person being transported to the hospital. 

According to police reports, omnibus HA 277 driven by Kelvin Belle of Phillip’s Village and omnibus HA 345 driven by Etienne Henry of Lodge Project were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The accident occurred near Granny Notha’s Shop and Bar.

Three passengers were travelling in HA 277, while HA 277 had no passengers. A passenger was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.

Police also report that Rodney Baptise of Walwyn Avenue, the driver of HA 224, was “formally arrested and charged for the offences of Refusing To Give His Name and Reckless Driving”, which were committed on the Bay Road on June 2. Baptiste was granted bail and is scheduled to make an appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court.

Keithroy Duncan of Shadwell Estate was formally arrested and charged for the offence of “Possession of Crack/Cocaine”, committed on June 3, the police report also indicated.
