South Africa and the world have lost in Nelson “Madiba” Mandela, a man of great honour, strength, and resolve.”
Richards said that through courage, dignity and personal sacrifice Mandela changed South Africa for the better, and has given hope to others around the world. Mandela’s commitment to reconciliation stands out as an inspiration to humanity, added the parliamentarian from the town of Sandy Point.
“As the Lion sleeps, let us honour his legacy. Let Madiba’s long journey for freedom and justice continue with all of us. Let us all draw strength from his examples of courage, resilience, and his unwavering will to sacrifice, as we continue our own fight for our nation,” stated the political leader.
He ended by stating that “Our thoughts are with his wife Graça Machel, his entire family, and the people of South Africa. We extend to you our gratitude for sharing Madiba with us, and extend deepest condolences on behalf of the People’s Action Movement. May His Soul Rest In Peace.”
