Masud Joins other Caribbean Artistes to Endorse Goal of UNIFEM

One such artiste is Kittitian Masud Sadiki, who debuted his A Stitch in Time, created specifically for the campaign, on night one of a two-day conference which intends to draft a Caribbean response to the global initiative.

He told the audience that domestic violence has affected his family and went on to recount that his maternal grandmother was stabbed to death by an ex-boyfriend.

“I am delighted to be a part of this campaign,” the recording artiste said. “People know but people are afraid for whatever reason to do something. A stitch could be making a phone call, talking to the man, anything we could do because we all can do something.”

He then sang, “From the outside looking in, her life seems fine, but if you could get a look at all the chaos in her life … send that stitch in time … you just might save a life.”

Other artistes that have endorsed the campaign include Destra Garcia, Nellie Star, Indra Rudder, and Patrice Roberts
