Maurice Hillier Primary School Congratulates Students

The school which is an institution of the Methodist Church was founded by the late Rev. Maurice Hillier, a Methodist Pastor, on 21st September 1953 and has produced state scholars and many notable individuals in the federation of St Kitts and Nevis over the years.

In speaking with Miyvue.com, Principal, Mrs. Icilma Springer said that the school is very proud of receiving reports on students’ performances and added that the great news that was shared is clearly stating that Maurice Hillier Primary is still committed to excellence.

“ Firstly I would like to extend congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Leary Hobson, and daughter Julear Hobson, a past student of the MHMJS, who has successfully sat and passed thirteen (13) subjects and obtaining thirteen (13) distinctions in the 2011 CXC Examinations.” stated Mrs. Springer

She insisted that hard work and dedication always make a difference.

This, she said was evident when the names of three (3) boys of the learning institution were sighted on a list that illustrated the top ten Grade six students of the local examination for primary schools, Test of Standards.Maurice-Hillier

“….to our three boys who made it to the top ten in the Test of Standards in the persons of Jadien Sutton (3rd), Chezyown Warner (4th) and Jamihk Gumbs (10th), a job well done, the boys have done themselves, parents and the school proud.”

“These boys have made Maurice Hillier Primary, the only school on the island of St Kitts to have three persons in the top ten.” smiled Principal Springer

Mrs. Springer urged the past and present students to always adhere to the school’s motto, ‘Altiora Sequamur’ which is Latin for ‘Aim for the Highest’ and to give the world the best.

The school’s head also made mention of her hard working staff, who she said continues to assist in moulding the children of the nation, especially through consistent character education.

The Epworth/Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior celebrated its 58th Anniversary, just one day ago, on 21st September, 2011.
