The forum is to be held at NEMA Headquarters located at Buckley’s from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Dubbed ‘Cooperation and collaboration towards building a successful Carnival Season the forum is expected to have Carnival stakeholders in attendance in an effort to harmonize and discuss plans for the upcoming 40th Anniversary of our Carnival celebrations.

According to a release from the Ministry of Community Development, the forum is expected to have representatives from the various Troupes, Bands, Vendors, Promoters, Sound and Lighting Technicians, Calypsonians, Chaperones, Judges, Pageant Coordinators and Teachers.

Last carnival was considered to be a huge success by most participants, the public and local media and the committee appears keen on ensuring that they build on the 2010/11 success.

St. Kitts & Nevis Carnival is usually held from mid December to early January, the following year, packed with queen shows, calypso competitions, street parades, parties and many other types of entertainment.

A new National Committee was appointed in 2010, headed by former calypsonian, Clement “Monarch” O’Garro. Last year was also the first time that the festival was being administered under the guidance of Marcella Liburd, who was sworn in as the new Minister of Culture in 2010.
