The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the national cultural policy, and keep individuals affected by the policy informed.
MiyVue.com spoke with Ms Marlene Phillips Research and Documentation Specialist in The Ministry of Culture; she explained interested persons are asked to attend the meetings especially those whom will be directly affected by the policy.
Ms Phillips further explained Mr. Sydney Bartley a consultant from Jamaica is the presenter of the meeting, and persons in attendance are encouraged to express their concerns and questions as this will be a vital part in completing the policy in the benefit of all individuals involved.
Mr. Sydney Bartley met yesterday Tuesday 23rd August with individuals involved in Fashion Design, Heritage preservation, Visual, Dance, Drama Literary and Culinary Arts at the NEMA building.
A meeting was also schedule for later that day at 5:00pm, where Mr. Bartley met with individuals involved in the musical industry.
The Meetings also continue today Wednesday 24th August at 6:00pm at the Anglican Church Hall, Sandy Point.
