Miss Alsanarda Hanley crowned Miss St Kitts-Nevis Caraibes Hibiscus

The show which was held last evening, Saturday 1st October, 2011, at Carnival Village, saw the four local beauties competing in five segments, Interview, Traditional Swimwear, Creative Swimwear, My Island Promotional Speech and Evening Wear.

The hibiscuses sported swimwear made from materials such as coconut palms and sand in the creative swimwear segment. However, in the evening wear category each delegate was provided with a white satin cloth by the organizing committee and was asked to make a dress in the design of their choice.

At the end of the night it was 20 year old, Miss Alsanarda Hanley who copped all of the  judged segments amassing a total of 881.5 points and was crowned queen of the first ever Miss St Kitts-Nevis Caraibes Hibiscus.

Miss Katherina Davis of Molineux Village placed 1st runner up with 769 points and also won the awards for Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Miss Community Spirit.

Green Valley beauty (Cayon), Miss Raisa Wattley-Bertie was adjudged 2nd runner up after gaining 706 points leaving Miss Elvesia Glasgow, from the St Paul’s Village to place 3rd runner up with a total of 645 points.

The 2011 Miss St Kitts-Nevis Caraibes Hibiscus was crowned by the Governor General of St Kitts-Nevis, His Excellency Sir Cuthbert M. Sebastian.

Miss Alsanarda Hanley would be representing the Federation of St Kitts-Nevis in the regional Miss Caraibes Hibiscus Model Pageant which will be held in St. Martin later this year.
