It will be a double header of pageantry as the Festival Committee stages the Mr. Kool Contest and Miss Culture Swimwear, at the Nevis Cultural Complex, starting at 8:00pm.
Five contestants have been confirmed for the Swimwear competition while four gentlemen are expected to vie for the coveted Mr. Kool crown.
If one is to go by the experience of previous shows, tonight’s battle for the monarchy is expected to be keenly fought.
Those entering the Mr. Kool segment are Reece Walters, Daquani Newton, Lorenzo Phillip and Kevin Adams.
Those hoping to capture the Swimwear honours however include Roslyn Berkeley, Tera Griffin, Franale Holder and Tamenelle Browne.
The official start to the festival took place on Thursday 26th July, with the presentation of contestants and the Junior Calypso Show, which was won by King Scribbles, followed by King Leo -1st Runner up and Lil Taj placing 2nd Runner up. The top three were calypsonians from sister island St. Kitts. Other competitors were De Finisher, Mighty Prophet, Mighty Jah, Lady Ice and Singing Carlyn.
Among the other major shows to come are the Miss Culture Pageant, Miss Caribbean Culture and the Senior Calypso Monarch Competition.
