In 2006, Kandé was successful in her Common Entrance Examination. She obtained the sixth position in the island and earned her way into St. Joseph’s Convent St. George’s where she not only excelled academically but participated in numerous extracurricular activities namely Guides/Rangers, the school choir, the school dance group and the RBTT Young Leaders Programme of which she was the Vice President. Outside of school she was, and still is an active member of her church’s youth group. In fifth form, Kandé’s leadership qualities began to show when she was nominated and elected Vice House Captain 2010-2011.
Despite the fact that she was busy with her countless activities and responsibilities, Kandé was still able to successfully gain passes in all ten (10) CXC subjects which she wrote in 2011 namely; Economics, Physics, Spanish, English A and English B and distinctions in Mathematics, French, Chemistry, Biology and Additional Mathematics.
Kandé has an intense passion for science and is currently considering becoming a Chemical Engineer. However, she also shows some interest in the medical field hence, she is using her two year stay at T.A. Marryshow Community College not only as another step in her academic journey but also as a means of figuring out which career path she would most like to venture down be it the medical field or the engineering field.
