The event which was organised by MiyVue’s team, was geared towards familiarizing the public with the MiyVue brand and the features which are offered on the website. The celebration however incorporated a wide-range of carnival-inspired activities including costume modelling and presentations by calypsonians to be featured during Sugar Mas’ 2010/2011.
The energetic La La, the entertaining Hot Rod, local R&B sensation Dagah, local soca diva Shakki and gospel artiste Minister LK were some of the featured artistes at the event.
Models from the Movada Model Agency also made appearances at the event showcasing designs from Island Hopper, Brown Sugar and they also displayed their creativity through the MiyVue.com t-shirt line.
Masters of Ceremony ‘Sugar Bowl’ and ‘Piece ah Man’ kept the large audience in tune, entertained and informed during the event and even, in some instances, joined the artistes in their performances.
The event culminated with colourful displays of costumes from the Banker’s Mas’ Camp, PhunnMakers Mas’ Camp and the X-Treme J’ouvert Warriors Mas’ Camp before the Small Axe Band took control and brought the curtains down on the event.
The many audience members, left the event with a greater appreciation for and understanding of the MiyVue product and the MiyVue brand especially following a power point presentation which was delivered by MiyVue’s owner and Managing Director, Val Henry.
Following the event, Henry said he was pleased with the outcome and noted that the aim of the event was accomplished.
“I am satisfied. I think it went very well. At the start we had some hiccups but the performances by the artistes were very good. I am very encouraged and pleased with the crowd turnout and the fact that they stayed from the start to the end. I think the performances by the costume bands were very colourful and I think the audience loved it.
“More importantly I think we reached out objective in spreading the word of MiyVue.com and branding MiyVue.com. I think as a result of the launch celebration, many, many more people in St. Kitts and Nevis would be aware of our brand and will be giving us the support during the upcoming carnival celebrations.”
Henry indicated that the highlight of the evening for him “had to do with the culmination with the carnival costumes. I thought that was very entertaining. I also liked some of the performances by the artistes such as Dagah – I thought he was very professional and Shakki as well.”
All, including the MiyVue team, for its “very high level performance and presentation” were thanked by Henry for their part in making the launch celebration a success.
