A press statement from the department on Thursday has outlined that bus operators, who ply the St. Peters/Basseterre area, have to now utilize a temporary route that would run as follows:
- From St. Peters – Victoria Road, west on Cayon Street to the bus station on College Street
- To St. Peters – west on Cayon Street, Upper Market Street.
Bus operators have been warned that they are not allowed to stop to pick up or put off passengers on Victoria Road, Cayon Street and Market Street.
A section of upper College Street collapsed due to heavy water flow and erosion caused by the heavy rains experienced in the Federation in late July. This made the road virtually impassable, said officials.
Authorities however have not disclosed how long the repair work would last.
