According to Dominic Stevens of the St. Kitts & Nevis Football Association, the motorcade is expected to commence at 3:00pm, leaving from the Kim Collins Highway, onto the Frigate Bay Road, Bird Rock Road, then across the Bay Road, heading into Fort Street and ending at Lozack Road, in front of the headquarters of the Football Association.
The SKFA official explained that a major social event is also planned at the end of the motorcade when one of St. Kitts’ leading soca bands, the Nu Vybes International, will entertain the thousands that are expected. He said that tickets for next Friday’s match, Canada versus St. Kitts & Nevis will be on sale at the event.
In addition, tickets for the association’s ongoing raffle will be on sale, with the winner being granted the opportunity to travel with the National Team, when it leaves next weekend to travel to Canada for the second leg of their encounter with that country.
Food, drink and entertainment, said the SKNFA spokesperson will be the main features at the Lozack Road promotional function.
Already the excitement is building not only for next Friday’s match but fans have indicated that they too are looking forward to tomorrow’s motorcade when the players converge, especially in the Fort Street area. One football fan indicated that he is turning out to support the squad because he feels it is critical for Kittitians and Nevisians to do their part to motivate and encourage our team, if they are to do well against Canada.
The match Canada Versus St. Kitts & Nevis is scheduled for Friday 11th November, at 8:00pm, at the Warner Park Stadium, as both teams try to move on to the next stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
