Festival organizers have already announced that the artist, who was well known for his conscious reggae music and powerful soca and calypso songs, will be honoured with a tribute on the first night of the festival to be held at the Warner Park Stadium next week.
Masud was already booked and advertised to appear on the festival as one of the acts for ght, so instead of filling the void with a new artist, it was deemed more appropriate to have other artists pay tribute in song.
A number of Kittitian/Nevisian acts will therefore perform a number of the more popular tunes from Masud that became favourites of so many fans.
Sadiki was scheduled to perform on the opening (Thursday) evening of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
The 16th Annual St. Kit Music Festival will commence on Thursday (28th June) and conclude on Saturday 30th June.
Sadiki died last month in what appeared to have been a suicide, not too far from his home in Verchild’s Village.
