Must Win Situation for St. Kitts

St. Kitts and Nevis has already secured impressive victories in their two previous matches against Antigua and St. Lucia, and though they and Haiti have won their two games so far, Haiti currently has the advantage of a better goal difference, having fewer goals scored against them.

Monday night’s showdown comes after months of preparation but only one team, the winner of the Group, will advance to the next stage of the regional competition, as they all compete for the ultimate prize of a place in next year’s Olympic Games in London.

The game between the “Sugar Boyz” and Haiti is due for kick off at 8:00pm tonight but that would not be until the two other teams, Antigua and St. Lucia, do battle at the bottom of the table, playing for dignity and pride, having already been knocked out of any chances of advancing.

On Thursday 21st July 2011, the start of the qualification matches, the night concluded with Haiti defeating Antigua and Barbuda 2-1 and St Kitts and Nevis defeating St. Lucia 2-1 as well.

On Saturday 23rd July 2011 both Haiti and St Kitts and Nevis remained undefeated with Haiti defeating St Lucia 2- nil and St Kitts and Nevis defeated Antigua and Barbuda 2-1.

Who will remain unbeaten at the end will be qualified to move on to the next stage to compete with the winners from groups A, B and C.

Both Haiti and St Kitts and Nevis have displayed their skills and have proven that their months of training did not go to waste.
