According to information released by the Police, the Special Services Unit, the Anti-Drug Unit, the K-9 Unit and members of St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force executed the search warrants on Sunday.
Targeted were properties in Newtown, Ponds Pasture and St. Peter’s (Monkey Hill) on suspicion of possession of illegal firearms, ammunition and controlled drugs, the information revealed.
The Police information states, “The search netted a quantity of crack cocaine, a quantity of marijuana. The items were buried outside two of properties. Later, searches of five abandoned properties were conducted by the search team. Those searches netted two hand-held radios (walkie-talkies) and three (3) black gloves. No one was held in connection to the find.”
The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has been pursuing a campaign to remove illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition from communities in the federation, as part of the crime fighting strategy.
