The contractors were ably assisted by National Bank staff in the construction of the ramps.
The three recipients, who are wheelchair dependent, expressed their gratitude to the Bank and the contractors for restoring a fraction of their mobility that they had lost as a result of their disabilities.
Mr. Donald Thompson Assistant Managing Director stated that this initiative was one of several undertaken to improve the quality of life in the communities that National Bank serves.
Other initiatives included a mentoring programme, the distribution of over 1,000 articles of clothing in the Parsons, Saddlers and Dieppe Bay areas, an extensive beach cleanup at Cockle Shell Bay, and tree planting exercises at the FT Williams Highway in St. Kitts and the Pinneys Bypass Road in Nevis.
The Ministry of Social and Community Development was represented by Director Azilla Clarke. Ms. Clarke stated that the initiative is indicative of the role that the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited has played in the life not only of individuals but also the nation as a whole.
