Ms. Huggins said, “Foremost I thank my Heavenly Father through whom all things are possible. To the devoted members of my team in particular my chaperons Ermelin Sebastian, Johan Kelly and Mikieda Franklin, I thank you for your creativity, your drive and most of all for never losing faith in me.”
Kalia added, “Further I wish to thank my sponsors the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis. I will forever be grateful for the confidence reposed in me.
To Val Henry of VH Communications your sessions were truly life changing. I thank you for awakening a spirit of determination in me.”
Kalia also took time to thank the architect of her costume Jeffrey Joseph and his team, Larry Vaughn, Azem Bailey, Jazzique Chiverton and the Royaltiez Band who she described as Geniuses
The 2011-12 National Carnival Queen continued by saying “A special thank you to my fantastic “glam squad” which comprised of Kimberly Ward and her team at Island Beauty Entertainment as well as Karmalita of Hair by Karma, I have never felt so beautiful. To seamstress extraordinaire, Edris of Edris Fashions your work is immaculate. To my trainer Steven “Louie” Davis, thank you for always challenging me. Thank you To Zachary Getz and your team at BG Fireworks for making my confetti and pyrotechnic dreams come true.”
Kalia concluded by thanking her employers F.Y.I, the National Carnival Committee, her family, friends and well-wishers her fellow contestants and the general public.
