The National Invitational & Club Championship features six membership clubs from the federation:
- Elite Performances
- Extreme Velocity
- Pace Setters
- Over the Top
It is partnered with the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee and is sponsored by Digicel. Digicel will be offering in stadium activities for their fans through the dash for cash promotion; that’s where spectators will have the opportunity to actually race a specified distance and win cash!
This weekend is a perfect opportunity to witness St. Kitts and Nevis’ greatest as our athletes vie for supremacy. One can expect scintillating performances from athletes like Kim Collins, Brijesh Lawrence and Tameka Williams, whose 2012 performances earned them top 30 rankings in the world for 2012. Other athletes notably ranked on the IAAF 2012 top listings for indoor and outdoor performances are Antoine Adams, Lestrod Roland, Virgil Hodge and Tiandra Ponteen. Amongst these athletes, a few have already attained qualifying marks for the London 2012 Olympics; ALL of whom will compete at Sunday’s championships!
Sunday 3rd June will also be the final opportunity for our athletes to attain qualifying marks for the 2012 CAC Junior Championships (El Salvador, San Salvador), 2012 NACAC Under 23 Championships (Guanajuato, Mexico), 2012 World Junior Championships (Barcelona, Spain), 2012 CUT Games (Kingston, Jamaica) and the XXX Olympic Games (London, England).
Immediately following the National Invitational will be the 2012 OECS Invitational on Sunday 10th June 2012. The St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team will represent the federation against seven (7) other competing countries namely: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines with a special appearance from Trinidad & Tobago’s male and female relay team.
Both meets promises to be exciting!! Competition commences at 3pm on both Sunday 3rd and 10th. Admission Kim Collins Pavilion EC20.00, Grounds – Adults EC10.00 and Children EC5.00.
