The local team will be trying to make its country proud again, just as it did in the recent IAAF World Championships in Korea.
The team of athletes and officials was announced on Monday evening, (3rd October, 2011), by the St. Kitts & Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA).
A release from the association said that it was pleased that the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee, (SKNOC) has endorsed the selection of the following athletes and officials to represent the Federation at the 2011 XVI Pan American Games from Friday 14th October – Sunday 30th October 2011 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Lester Hanley – Team Manager
Lonzo Wilkinson Sr – Head Coach / Technical Leader
Kim Collins – 100m, 4X100m
Brijesh Lawrence – 200m, 4X100m
Antoine Adams – 200m, 4X100m
Delwayne Delaney – 4X100m
Jason Rogers – 100m, 4X100m
Tameka Williams – 100m, 200m
The team, with the exception of Brijesh Lawrence, will be participating in a ‘Pre-Pan American’ athletic meet in Puerto Rico from Thursday 6th October – Saturday 8th October 2011 in an effort to intensify their level of competition ahead of the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 14th, while the athletic events will commence on October 23rd and run through October 28th 2011. The team is scheduled to arrive in Guadalajara at different intervals in respect to location, academic and work commitment. All athletes will however be arriving in advance of the competition for the purpose of climatization.
