To this end the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has organized an exercise that will include a multi-agency group of about 50 individuals. During the exercise, roles, responsibilities and actions to be taken during a Tsunami will be discussed.
The information gathered will be used to develop the Tsunami Standard Operating Procedures and Plans for St. Kitts-Nevis.
All information sent by The Intergovernmental Coordination Group for Tsunami and other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (ICG/CARIBE EWS) will be discussed also.
Similar exercises will be heldin Nevis atthe Disaster Management Department, in other Caribbean Islands, in the Western Atlantic and the Adjacent Regions concurrently.
The Tsunami Orientation Exercise will be held on 20th March, 2013 from 9:00am to 12:00pm and will be held at the NEMA Head Quarters, Basseterre, St. Kitts.
