NEMA Reflects on Past Hurricane Season

The National Emergency Management Agency gave thanks for a very inactive Trans-Atlantic Hurricane Season, by treating themselves to a recent End of Year Social Event and Thanks Giving Service.

The Social Event was held at the NEMA Headquarters on Saturday 3rd December, in an effort to foster camaraderie between key Disaster Response players, at the Community Level.

Sincere gratitude has been expressed by NEMA’s management team, to members of the private sector, who have contributed significantly, not only to this event, but to all of the organization’s ongoing efforts. Much needed support was received from the Republic of China on Taiwan, S.L. Horsford’s Ocean Cold Storage, Carib Brewery, Best Buy, Food Center, Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd, C&C Super Foods, Brisbane O.D & Sons, Quality Trading supplies and Mr. Richard Caines.

The volunteers also attended Church Services in their respective communities around the island, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th, as part of NEMA’s call to give thanks to the Creator, for a safe and for the most part, uneventful, 2011 hurricane season.

NEMA also took the opportunity to wish the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis a safe and enjoyable Christmas and Carnival and a prosperous and peaceful 2012.
