Mr. Big Pepe has dominated all competition coming his way for the year so far and even in one particular race when he appeared to be beaten, he pulled out all of the stops and pulled off a sensational win.
The popular saying is: ‘Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown,’ but Mr. Big Pepe and owner Ali seem to be resting easy and are confident that they will end the year on a high note.
The owners of the other competing horses have other ideas quite naturally and they are thinking that they too can end the year by defeating the outstanding horse.
The decisive moment comes up as early as this Sunday, when the Indian Castle Race Track returns to life after an unplanned rest, compliments of a passing storm, which did quite a bit of damage to the top soil at the track.
There will also be another opportunity the following Sunday, January 6, 2013, as the Nevis Turf and Jockey Club will be effectively hosting back to back race meets on the two Sundays.
