Morton explained that he was contacted by Steve Saunders of the St. Kitts Cricket Association who has been given the task of organizing teams within the Federation for participation in the West Indies regional female tournament next year.
According to Saunders, Nevis should be ahead of the game as they are accustomed to playing with the tape ball. He further explained that the women should seize the opportunity, especially at a time when the WICB is offering contracts to a limited number of female cricketers.
The plan is that hard ball teams be organized within St. Kitts and Nevis and be put into immediate training sessions. It is hoped that by December of this year, there will be a historic practice match between the two Federation teams at the hard ball version of the sport.
