Earlier this week, Premier of Nevis, Joseph Parry told the Department of Information that the Building Program will be adopted by the NIA, and will stimulate the economy and encourage home ownership.
The Program is designed to aid persons building homes in 2012 by granting duty-free concessions on building materials.
“All duties and custom service charges up to EC$400, 000 in private-home building supplies, purchased by any citizen up to December 31, 2012 will be removed”, the Premier said.
He continued, “The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP)-led Administration has made it a mandate to empower residents on Nevis to gain their own homes, and this project can help many on their way.”
