According to the latest police update, Sandy Nisbett of Charles Road, New Castle was convicted of Manslaughter at the Nevis Circuit Court, for the crime which was committed on 12th April 2012.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with the opportunity for Parole after 20 years.
The authorities have also revealed that Jermaine Merritt of Central Avenue, Basseterre was convicted of Possession of Cannabis, committed on 21 June 2012, and was fined $1,500 in three (3) months or one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour.
A juvenile of Craddock was convicted for Larceny committed on 30th July 2012 and sentenced to 1 month in prison, while Deon Walters of Stoney Grove was convicted for Possession of Cannabis, committed on 30th July 2012 and was fined $350 in 1 week or 1 week imprisonment with hard labour.
Clifford Liburd of Chicken Stone was convicted for Wounding and fined $1,500 in one (1) month or one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour and Degamber Ricky Ramnouth of Cotton Ground was convicted for Threatening Language committed on 9th April 2012 and sentenced to one (1) month imprisonment.
Still in Nevis, Wilson Dore of Bath Village was convicted for Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon, committed on 29th July 2012, and sentenced one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour. Dore was also convicted for Assault and sentenced to one (1) month imprisonment. Sentences run concurrently.
Also held to account was Monique Jeffers of Cotton Ground who was convicted and cautioned for failing to stop at a stop sign, driving without driver’s license and driving without insurance.
Police have also disclosed that they have made a number of arrests and these included Deon Walters of Stoney Grove who was charged for Possession of Cannabis committed on 30 July 2012
Kenny Claxton of Bath Village was charged for Threatening Language, Battery on Police and Malicious Damage and A juvenile of Craddock Road was charged for Larceny committed on 30th July 2012.
