Bishop Richards was praised in that regard by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas. Richards was recently in St. Kitts where he met local government officials, including Dr. Douglas.
Douglas told him in a congratulatory letter, ‘We are honoured to welcome you and wish you much success in your stewardship in this jurisdiction.”
Prime Minister Douglas in a letter personally delivered to Bishop said, “Your distinguished years of service in the clergy, your contribution to the spiritual development of the members of the Catholic Community and your own commitment to the goodwill of humanity, no doubt, have informed the decision for the recognition and honour bestowed on you at this time.”
Dr. Douglas dispatched the letter congratulating Bishop Richards after the welcome mass last week and extended his greetings on behalf of the Government and People of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis said
