Mr. Parry said, “I am very pleased to see a man like Vernon Thomas who has shown good managerial skills and creative ideas in other facets of his life has now taken the post of Manager in one of Nevis’ Tourist sites.” 

The Nevisian Heritage Village managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, generally portrays the evolution of Nevisian social history through housing. The houses model those from the Carib Indian era and are furnished with antiques and relics of their relevant periods. 

The display at the village includes a blacksmith’s shop, a rum shop and a shoe-maker’s shop, along with dwelling houses. To complete these traditional village settings, there are “backyard” gardens, flower gardens and various species of indigenous plants and shrubs. 

Mr. Thomas’ assignment took effect from late-October and his appointment to the Ministry of Tourism was as a result of the void left by the untimely death of the first Heritage Site Manager, Mr. Frank Bartlette.
