The crowds had started to gather at the Cultural Complex in Charlestown from as early as 7:00pm, for a night of entertainment that was billed to start at 8:00pm, but unfortunately they were forced to wait until 9:00pm before the activities got going.
Despite this characteristic late start the spirits of the spectators were not daunted as the contestants for both pageants delivered the promise of the expected highly competitive appearances.
In the end however, it was the contestant supported by the Platinum Sponsor, LIME, Miss Cherissa Maynard, that convinced the judges that the nod ought to be given to her as the new Miss Culture Swimwear Queen.
She was followed in the First Runner-up position by Kaneisa Byron and Ulinda Warner who took honours in the Second Runner-up slot.
The unsuccessful contestants were Zena Hyman and Stavena Lewis.
The field of male competitors in the popular Mr. Kool Pageant eventually narrowed down to Kadeem Tyson, who picked up the coveted title, as King.
Taking the First runner-up position was Jermaine Arthurton while Halva Browne copped the Second Runner-up position. The other two competitors were Vandon Samuel and DeSyl Hamilton.
The show ended just after 2:00am.
Tonight it is the turn of the top senior calypsonians from Nevis and St. Kitts as they vie in the “Kaiso Bacchanal, also slated for the Cultural Complex.
