New Social Security Annex to be Opened Tuesday

The opening of the new building was scheduled to coincide with events to mark the 29th Anniversary of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Independence, two days after what would have been the 96thbirthday of Sir Robert L. Bradshaw, First National Hero.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr. Denzil Douglas will deliver remarks while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Security, Sam Condor will give the Feature Address.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by other dignitaries including the Governor General, Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, ministers of government, the Speaker and members of the National Assembly, the business community and social security members.

The annex building is located at the junction of Liverpool Row and Church Street.

 

A Journey Back in Time

The St. Christopher National Trust will host story telling event dubbed “A Journey Back in Time.”

The St. Christopher National Trust has called on the general public to join them aboard the train for an afternoon of history, serene views, fun prizes and jumbie stories.

The tour starts at 2:00 PM from the Scenic Railway terminal at Conaree, for 3-hour trek around the island of St. Kitts.

An official of the Trust has informed that tickets can be reserved by calling the St. Christopher National Trust at the phone number 465-5584 OR 466-2744.

Tickets for adult are $80.00, while children ages 4—12 pays $50.00 and all children under age 4 are free of cost.

The official also indicated that all proceeds from the event will go towards the restoration of the National Museum Building.
