One of the lasting effects has been the disruption of traffic on the Bay Road, Basseterre. As a result, the Licensing Authority, in a release on Monday, (8th October), informed members of the general public that new directions will be implemented with immediate effect.
The release stated that as a consequence of damages done to the Irish Town Bay Road; the West Line Bus Route will be temporarily rerouted, especially for the flow of public buses.
The Licensing Authority indicated that buses travelling from the West Line to Basseterre will be required to travel down Cunningham Street, down Fort Thomas Road, right into Lower Fiennes Avenue and then left onto the Bay Road, to the Bus Terminal.
Upon leaving the Bus Terminal in downtown Basseterre, they are to travel west along the Bay Road, right into Fiennes Avenue, left into Central Street and then into Cunningham Street.
Motorists have also been reminded that the speed limit in built up areas is 20 MPH and they are encouraged to exercise due care and attention.
