The Storm has been given the name Ophelia, and at 5:00am Wednesday, 21st September, 2011, it was located near Latitude 12.7 North, Longitude 41.8 West or about 1,433 miles east of St. Kitts and Nevis.
It is moving to toward the west at 13 miles per hour. This general motion is expected to continue during the next 24 hours. The maximum sustained winds are 45mph with higher gusts at times. Some gradual strengthening is forecast over the next day or two, said the Met Office.
Meanwhile, tropical storm force winds extend up to 175 miles mainly to the north of the centre. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 MB or 29.68 inches.
