New tropical system heads towards the Caribbean

According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, this system continues to show signs of organization and has the potential for some development as it moves westward at 15 to 20 mph across the tropical Atlantic during the next few days.

Chances of formation of a tropical cyclone are medium (40 percent) through 48 hours and 60 percent during the next five days.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Fred is now a tropical depression and is forecast to weaken further and become a remnant low on Friday night or Saturday.
