The new addition which is the brainchild of the Phunnmakers Mas camp will be held on 17th December, as an all inclusive fete, according to Mas Camp Leader, Christine Walwyn.
“There are many persons who do not like to participate in the day Mas. So, we came up with the idea of catering for those individuals by staging this event,” Walwyn told MiyVue.com.
According to Walwyn, this is one way to attract more revellers to participate in carnival.
“Over the years we’ve seen a reduction in the public’s participation and for us to regain those lost ones we must be creative by introducing new events that might capture their attention,” she added.
Phunnmakers Night Mas will be held at the Port Zante terminal which according to Walwyn will be transformed for the occasion.
PhunnMakers Mas camp is currently the longest running carnival troupe and was launched on Friday, 5th November, at what is now known as, “The Phunn Spot,” which is located at corner of the Kim Collins Highway and Frigate Bay Road
