They have however confirmed that they are in fact investigating such a report but to date have not found any evidence to substantiate what has been reported.
In a press statement, the police late Wednesday reported that based on the investigations conducted thus far, and information presented by the reporter, there is no physical evidence to authenticate her allegation.
The release further stated that the police force takes all claims of sexual assault very seriously and all claims of sexual assault are investigated and if substantiated, charges are filed against the suspects and arrests are made.
Police also said that in an effort to combat offenses of sexual assault in the Federation, a Special Victims Unit (SVU) was established and equipped with investigators who were trained in both the United States and Canada.
On Wednesday, reports emerged, suggesting that a female tourist, was assaulted while on a catamaran cruise.
The investigations into the matter are continuing, according to officials.
