Reggie has been sentenced to serve a prison term of six (6) months for the offence of beating.
The incident is reported to have taken place back on 29th May, 2013, at Fort Thomas, in Basseterre and the victim was a woman from the village of Ottley’s.
This means that the well-known MC and calypsonian will miss the upcoming carnival celebrations. In particular, the Proud Sounds Calypso Tent of the Grand Masters would have to find a new MC for its Calypso Tents which are due to start in November.
Calypso fans will miss his witty calypso renditions and on stage humour that usually leaves audiences at the various shows calling for more.
For over a decade, Reggie was also known to be seen around the town of Basseterre with his loud speakers announcing various public events for his advertising clients. This service however will also have to be suspended while Reggie serves his time in jail.
Some are already speculating though that he will use the quiet moments in prison to compose new calsypo songs or may even become a short term member of the musical group that has recently formed a band behind the prison walls.
He was sentenced on Tuesday 22nd October, 2013.
