CARICOM Secretary General, Mr. Irwin LaRocque, who was recently in St. Kitts for a series of meetings and media interviews and also for the swearing in of the new CCJ president, is expected to deliver remarks at the launch.
The launch which is on Monday 5th September, 2011, is for the CARICOM Online System of Registration of Companies. This new feature will help to provide more information to promote franchising in CARICOM member states.
It is part of the first phase of a CARICOM project that will be officially launched in Antigua & Barbuda and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
This project when completed would enable Registrars of Companies to access information on companies and other legal entities exercising the Right of Establishment in the web interface.
This will also allow public access to the online system that will be aided through the 9th European Development Fund, Caribbean Integration Support Programme (CISP).
The CARICOM Secretariat has employed an Information Technology Specialist and a Data Entry Operator within the office of the Registrar of Companies to properly maintain the database.
The project will benefit the CARICOM states which include Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and CARICOM associate members Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands and will benefit the Caribbean Single Market and Economy.
