The Scholarships are offered to Citizens of CARICOM member states, including Cuba and the Dominican Republic who meet the criteria, according to an official.
These are long term development scholarships providing persons with the opportunity to obtain tertiary qualifications at an Australian institution.
In order to obtain the scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a citizen of the following Caribbean countries residing in the region at the time of application:
– Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname.
- Must be willing to return to their home country for 2 years after the completion of their studies.
- Applications must be for studies at the Masters (up to 2 yrs) and PhD (up to 4yrs) levels only. Scholarships are not offered for distance or online courses.
Applicants must apply for areas of study within the designated priority areas.
