According to Headmistress of the school Ms. Valencia Syder the adoption came about so easily that she was even shocked by the tremendous and significant sponsorship that has been given by Dr. Duran Jones and Premier Dental.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Ms. Ionie Liburd Willett, in expressing gratitude for the gesture, disclosed that the funds were “earmarked for purposes including the development of the library, the purchase of teaching/learning materials and equipment as well as the development of the sports programme; the professional development of teachers and other minor projects.”

Minister of Education and Information Nigel Carty said a continuous cycle of education and tangible returns of gratitude from the beneficiaries of that education would keep the country progressing positively. The minister stated that it was important that persons who had grown up to be doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers and police officers, among other professions consider returning some type of contribution to the education system as part of an official or unofficial arrangement.

Stressing the importance of partnership, Deputy Prime Minister and elected representative for the area where the school is located Sam Condor, underscored previous comments by his colleagues emphasizing that partnership was the best way forward in meeting the financial challenges of maintaining a vibrant education system.

Dr. Duran Jones in his accustomed humble manner expressed only the gratitude to be given the opportunity to make such a significant investment in the lives of young people. He said more than a corporate responsibility; it was the pleasure of Premier Dental to assist in making the Dr. William Connor Primary School the best learning institution it could be.
