Pacer Tymal Mills out of T20 World Cup with thigh strain

LONDON (AP) — England pacer Tymal Mills is out of the T20 World Cup with a right thigh strain, the England and Wales Cricket Board said Wednesday.

A scan on Tuesday revealed the extent of the injury. Reece Topley replaced the 29-year-old Mills in the squad.

Mills, a left-arm quick, sustained the injury while bowling in the Super 12s match against Sri Lanka on Monday, which England won by 26 runs.

England leads Group 1 with four wins and is close to a spot in the semifinals. Mills played in all four games with overall figures of 7-108.

England’s last group game is on Saturday against South Africa in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
