Hurricane Sandy brought death and destruction to residents of these two states in the United States, where a large number of nationals of the Federation reside.

In a message to PAM USA and the thousands of nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis living in the diaspora, Mr. Richards said, “On behalf of myself and the Leadership of the Peoples Action Movement, I wish to express my solidarity and support for the many nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis, (and the people of the United States) who were impacted by the super-storm ‘Sandy’.

We regret the loss of life and property, and we pray that your individual lives will return to some normalcy in the very near future. Clearly, your contribution to the socio-political and economic development of the homeland cannot be diminished.

As you face the numerous challenges and the aftermath of the passage of this storm, Mr. Richards said, I want to assure you that we the members of the People’s Action Movement, will keep you in our prayers and thoughts, knowing that ‘God is our hope and strength, and a very present help in times of trouble’ “.
